You´ll be picked up at your hotel. We regret the nose-to-tail traffic in Singaraja, which we have to pass eastwards. Maybe you
won´t enjoy that part of our tour.
As soon as we leave the mainroad, the trip is getting much more relaxed. At the "Pura Dalem" in Jagaraga you can admire stone carved illustrations of western disturbers of Balinese life. On a narrow road, leading southwards high up into the highland, daily life happens directly beneath and in public places.
Balinese are very creative in finding new applications for the "living space road". Why, for example, should chicken stay in the narrow own fowl run, when the road is far broader...
We leave these picturesque scenery and turn into a even smaller street. Here the vespas are parked and we are going to have a hike which won´t be too long but tiring.
Initially the track meanders through tropical forest.
Mainly coffee, cacao, cloves and snakefruits are cultivated. Many kinds of other plants can be seen.
The trail follows a small beck and is bordered by ricefields. Simple homes of local residents alongside our path allow insights into daily Balinese life. Having passed the warung (small shop) of Kadek who offers eco-products, our trail is getting juicy...
We have to pass over 300 steep and greasy steps leading down into a river valley. There is no bridge, so we have to ford an approximately 15 meter wide river. You should wear rather trekking sandals than sturdy shoes.
When we finally reach the waterfalls you'll be soaking wet after just a short time.
For the daring ones we still offer an excursion to further falls. To get to them, however, we have to overcome a range of several hundred meters in a cree. This is not entirely harmless.
However, it is worth the detour. One of the three falls, which we achieve on this trip atomizes the water so finely, that while having a shower there you could think to enjoy a warm spring rain.
You should carry spare clothes for this tour. We don´t want you to become ill on our way back home. Don´t forget: You have to ride all the way home to your hotel on our vespas...
